Thursday 15th of October 2009 | Posted by Dave Taylor Joshua Taylor - Update...Just over two weeks ago on the last Sunday of September, Joshua and I headed over together to Bristol Children's Hospital. This time it wasn't just for a visit or a medical examination, it was so that he could undergo an operation on his heart, to solve the problem of the two holes that had been found there. Over the past four years these holes have been monitored on a yearly basis, and yet with Joshua getting older and our impending move to Australia, the surgeon decided that medical intervention was now needed.
In God's amazing kindness the surgeon team felt it likely that they could plug the holes by using a transcatheter device and performing the operation through Joshua's leg artery. We were thrilled when they brought this in as an option for us, overwhelmed again by the intervention and kindness of God towards us. If successful, this would mean that the recovery would be far shorter for Josh than open heart surgery...
Well folks, in God's kindness and abounding grace, the operation was indeed a success. Just two weeks later Josh is alive and well, and apart from some bruising on his leghe is a wonderfully fit and healthy seven year old boy.
On behalf of all my family, I just wanted to say a massive thankyou for the way so many of you have prayed for our Josh. We were overwhelmed by the numerous texts, letters, calls and facebook comments we received during this season. So many walked this path with us, and quite honestly we absolutely thank God so much for each and every one of you!
Man is indeed born to trouble, but Praise God we have One who holds our right hand... One who neither slumbers nor sleeps.... For He is truly faithful!
